Clive is getting used to being a beloved housecat after an uncertain feral life. We believe he was dumped by previous owner after he became sick with FIV. Unfortunately, many not so kind humans often choose to dump animals when they get sick/get older - when animals need humans to love & care for them more. Me & my friends who have done a lot of animal rescue work have seen too many dumped pets. Animals experience abandonment traumas too. I wish more folks would turn pets over to local rescue/shelter or post ad asking for rehoming assistance instead of just dumping animals outside.

This is why I love the Canadian feral cat rescue group TinyKittens.com so much! 💚​

Since ten years Shelly Roche of B.C., Canada, and her team of dedicated cat ladies and gents have made it their mission to showcase compassion for feral cats.

Not only do they work hands-on to do TNR, to save pregnant momcats (so they can have their last litter in safety) and to treat injured cats (thankfully with donations from their online followers, due to their 24/7 livecams tinykittens.com/live).

But a major focus is to educate the world that #feralCatsMatter and are worth the compassion, love and support.

"Our TNR efforts in 2024 will prevent more than 1240 kittens from being conceived in 2025. We've heard from so many of you [YT followers] who have been inspired to start TNR efforts in your own communities, amplifying that number exponentially on a global scale.“

TinyKittens highlights the worth of well-managed cat colonies – at the same time they work hard with every feral cat that spends medical time with them, to show them that life inside with humans is not so bad.
Not all candidates want to give up their ‚feral card’ … these can return to their friends at the colony, for cats form wonderful friendships in their groups.

Update on Clive - the #FeralCat that my friend recently rescued from her rural property in Yellowpoint - Cedar/Ladysmith area.

Clive had his full vet check up & he is #FIV+. He'll require regular visits to vet to monitor his health condition & get vaccines as needed.
Clive got all his vaccines last week & is doing pretty good. He got neutered & treated for fleas & worms too. My friend has moved him from the studio outbuilding into her home. Clive is still very timid but is slowly coming around. He is a very sweet & handsome kitty cat ❤️

One of my #CatRescuer friends is now working with this black tuxedo #feral. It kept going to her home & no one has claimed this cat. It was in pretty rough shape. My friend is getting veterinary care for this cat, this week. She has the kitty in a studio workshop space. Cat has eaten a lot; chowed down like it's been starving. Cat is still scared of people but my friend is very patient with cats & will slowly build trust.

And because cat rescue never stops, today I took another high-needs single kitten whose previous foster named her Cream Puff, despite her not being creamy OR puffy. What she is is *super* skinny, so please send some good vibes to this babygirl.

I'm posting this from the floor next to her crate where I'm cheering on her eating, which she only did after a good cuddle.

Early pandemic we found a feral kitten in our backyard and took her in. She was pregnant it turned out, but either because malnourishment or some other cause, she only had one kitten in there.

On June 6th, 2020 she gave birth to her son who started life as a small little otter beast.

It turns out, they're part maine coon so uhh
he's now one of our largest cats.

Everyone pls say happy 2nd birthday to mr. Smokescreen Chip.
