I bused into the city and learned about the nationwide ban in NZ on bikes on bus bike racks. I'm reading about it now. The NZ Transport Agency surprised everyone by declaring this unsafe in November.

It's great to know that when the NZTA identifies a safety concern on our roads, it acts swiftly to shut it down regardless of inconvenience to commuters.

I assume that giant SUVs will be next, and NZTA's plans to increase speed limits will now be shelved.

Sigh. It's a not a Metro, it's a bus. Politicians cannot be trusted with naming anything nowadays, they've been brainwashed by marketing people.

New London bus battery capacity is 472KWh.

Passenger loads:
96 (max) = 4.9KWh per passenger
40 = 11.8 kWh/pass
20 = 23 KWh/pass
10 = 47 KWh/pass

What about electric cars?

Average new car battery size is now 80KWh
5 (max) = 16 KWh/pass
2 = 40 Kwh/pass
1 = 80 KWh/pass

With a 20% or more bus load, the bus has a smaller battery requirement than a BEV car.

Hi everyone! 🚍
@BCWideBus is brand new on Mastodon so here's our #introduction ! We're a small ad-hoc group of citizens in BC advocating for a Public Intercity Transportation Network!

We hope to start posting lots of stories from people all over BC and other content to help make this happen. If you have a story about the need for inter-community public transport, please say Hi and reply! 🙂

Dear editor | It doesn't need to be a question of market forces versus total renationalisation. Burnham’s model for public control of buses re-establishes the priority of a service in the interests of the public and not purely the market | Justin Enthoven

On 28th August 1963, it was announced that there would be no more employment discrimination on the buses in Bristol.

The decision came after Black people came together in a protest known as the Bristol Bus Boycott over the refusal of the Bristol Omnibus Company to employ non-white people.
